COVID-19 Vaccine FAQ’s.

Worried about the Covid-19 Vaccine?

Anyone with any doubts please contact your health professional.

There have been some inaccurate reports on social media suggesting that after vaccination people could then not also have gene therapy. BIMDG (British Inherited Metabolic Disease Group) have issued a list of FAQ’s to help with any concerns. They are strongly supportive of the vaccination programme for COVID-19 and hope that any patient who is offered vaccination will take up the offer.

Upcoming NORD Webinar

This may provide useful information, but please note that it a USA webinar. It is on 15th January 2021 from 2-2.45pm (ET), which is 7-7.45pm (GMT).

The National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD), along with The ALS Association, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Muscular Dystrophy Association, is pleased to host a special webinar with leaders from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to discuss the COVID-19 vaccines with the rare disease community. Questions that will be addressed include:

  • What do the EUAs of these vaccines mean for the rare disease community?
  • When might other vaccines receive an EUA?
  • Are there special considerations for the rare disease community with respect to the COVID-19 vaccines?
  • What role does the CDC play with respect to vaccines?
