Helping primary care healthcare professionals recognise Glycogen Storage Disease
The Royal College of General Practitioners has a 30-minute eLearning course on glycogen storage disorders (GSDs). It consists of two 15-minute modules, the first concerns hepatic GSDs and the second, muscle GSDs.
The aim is to raise awareness of the condition among GPs and to support GPs who have a patient with one of these very rare diseases.
Produced under the direction of AGSD-UK, the course provides background about these diseases, highlights how these patients may present to GPs, and the differential diagnosis and work up. It also covers management and emphasises the role of highly specialised centres.
