A landmark publication
“The McArdle Disease Handbook” is one of AGSD-UK’s landmark publications. Written for us by Kathryn Elizabeth Birch, PhD, and published in 2011 it provides a plain English account of all the medical and scientific research into McArdle disease.
The handbook is ideal for patients and doctors wanting in-depth information about the condition. It is fully referenced to over 260 original research papers. It covers the cause, inheritance, history, symptoms, emotional aspects, treatments, and all the issues which can face McArdle people. It runs to 208 pages and is a large format paperback.
600+ copies, 30 countries
Now, with recent sales in Eastern Europe and the Middle East, the handbook has been distributed to 30 countries around the world (see list below), with over 600 printed copies having been issued.
The handbook is also available as a PDF and as an online document, so the total coverage is very much more extensive again.
