Benefits Advisor joins the AGSD-UK team.

Large increase in requests for help

Since the start of the COVID-19 lockdown, there has been a large increase in the number of requests to AGSD-UK for help with state benefits.

Specialist Care Advisor, Jane Lewthwaite, said:

I have found over the last four years working for AGSD-UK that explaining the impact of GSD on daily life is not simple. Expert help is needed to ensure that a full and accurate picture is given to the Department for Work and Pensions.

Support from Sanofi Genzyme

Sanofi Genzyme has funded a part time, temporary benefits advice post. AGSD-UK has recruited Julie Jackson, who has well over twenty years’ experience, most of it working for Plymouth Citizen’s Advice Bureau.

Julie has a huge range of experience in both disability and in-work benefits, full benefit checks, as well as claims and appeals. She has been well briefed on glycogen storage disease. She can also help applicants obtain vital supporting professional letters. Julie has been DBS checked.

Please get in touch

All of the benefits help work can be done remotely by phone and email. If you need help, please make initial contact at info@agsd.org.uk.
