AGSD-UK social media gets a shake up!

UPDATE – sorry to lose Rowena, but we will shortly be appointing a new social media manager.

Volunteer social media manager

Rowena Barnard has taken on managing AGSD-UK’s social media, on a volunteer basis, and you will be seeing a boost in activity and engagement.

Rowena

Rowena is a mum to three children and step-mum to a fourth. She has her own art/craft business which she has run for 12 years, and is currently on maternity leave. She doesn’t have a GSD herself, but does have a long term disability and suffers chronic pain, so she is empathetic with the GSD world.

Rowena’s eldest daughter has a congenital heart defect, had heart surgery at birth, and may still need more in the future, so she is conscious of the parental concerns.

Facebook, Twitter and Instagram

The social media remit includes our AGSD-UK Facebook Page, various GSD groups on Facebook, and our Twitter and Instagram accounts. If you follow any of these you will already have noticed an increase in activity.

Regular posts

On our Facebook Page we now often have a daily post, and there has been a good response. We are also getting stories out on Twitter. We have even introduced a Twitter feed on the web site home page, right below the News section, so it is easy to keep up with both. There are several new stories appearing every week and you can expect more news from events and meetings, keeping you in the picture about what is going on in the GSD world.

An exciting time

It is an exciting time for AGSD-UK and the wider GSD community, with many developments and new research projects.
