Valued member of AGSD UK, 14 year old Abdullah Amerat, has won first prize in London’s Hackney Youth Awards.
The award recognised his achievements within his local community where he has been a spokesperson in local Council meetings.
Here he is looking extremely smart in a blue jacket with Dr Ronx Ikharia, Emergency doctor at Homerton University Hospital.
Abdullah attended the AGSD-UK Kids Camp last September and he also won a prize in our Teens Competition for a moving story about living with Pompe disease. He does not let his condition define him. He excels at school and has set his sights on a political career. His other main interests are coding, graphics and computing.
Abdullah received his award from Speaker Councilor Clare Potter.
