AGSD-UK appoints a Chief Executive Officer
In line with the strategic plan developed by the trustee board and to support succession planning, AGSD-UK are pleased to announce the appointment of a Chief Executive Officer to the charity. This is a new role that will focus on further developing the charity with the explicit aim of providing more services and support for people with GSDs, as well as ensuring that AGSD-UK continues to meet the ever increasing regulatory and legal requirements placed upon charities. The role will supersede that of Charity Director, currently held by Allan Muir †.
Neil Bradbury appointed
AGSD-UK has appointed Neil Bradbury to the role of CEO, effective 1st August 2019. Neil is an experienced charity Chief Executive having run a number of charities and helped them to grow substantially during his period of management. For the last ten years he has been running local Citizens Advice charities but has also had a varied career in government and the NHS.
Neil said:
“I am very excited about this new role and I am looking forward to meeting our hard working staff team as well as our tremendous team of volunteers and our valued stakeholders to discuss how we can make an even bigger difference to the lives of people with GSDs in the coming year.”
Thanks to Charity Director Allan Muir
The trustee board would like to place on record its sincere thanks to the outgoing Charity Director Allan Muir for the huge contribution and years of hard work he has put into developing and growing the charity, in addition to supporting and representing the UK Pompe community. There are many members who will remember with gratitude his sound advice, his expertise and his willingness to help at a moment’s notice when times were tough for them.
Future involvement
Existing projects run by the charity are unaffected by the new post and the trustees are looking forward to exploring with Allan how he can continue to support AGSD-UK utilising his wealth of knowledge and experience.
Nick Jones
Acting Chairman AGSD-UK
† Footnote: There will be a transition period and then the role of Charity Director will cease on 11 October, following this year’s annual conference.
