Naidex exhibition will focus on staying independent

Each year several AGSD-UK members take advantage of free tickets to visit this exhibition and view the newest designs and innovations for helping people stay independent inside and outside the home. Most items showcased are larger ones, such as wheelchairs and scooters, but there is a smattering of smaller gadgets too.

There’s a myriad of displays and, importantly, a chance to test run or handle before buying. ‘Motability’ always have a large stand with a helpful team of advisors.

Specialist Care Advisor, Jane Lewthwaite, who visited last year, commented:

“I found it a friendly and accessible event, although it’s huge so it merits a bit of forward planning to get the best out of it.

“I suggest people scrutinise the programme of talks and request tickets for the day with most appeal. Naidex often have speakers on accessible holidays who give lots of tips. This is a topic often raised by our membership.

“This year Helen Dolphin will talk on ‘Blue Badges, eligibility and parking’, another regular topic.”

Phone Naidex on 0117 930 4927 for a hard copy of the programme, a plan of the displays and free tickets, or visit their website.
