There are many options for ways to help.
- The AGSD-UK holds a number of challenging fundraising events which anyone can join in.
- Many people organise their own fundraising activities, such as a sponsored walk, a parachute jump, a car boot sale or a raffle. We can help by supporting your efforts.
- Then there are the collection boxes.
Check out our page with JustGiving and its great on-line facility, making it easy to collect sponsorship on charity events.
From online purchases, at no cost to you!
Support AGSD-UK through your online purchases, with the seller donating a small percentage of the purchase price at no cost to you. “Give as You Live” works with many retailers. (Amazon has now closed its “AmazonSmile” offer.)
Give as You Live
“Give as You Live” works with a wide range of retailers. Here our Social Media Manager, Lisa Massimo, introduces “Give as You Live” and shows you how to set up an account and start helping AGSD-UK. (The web site layout has changed somewhat, but the priniples remain the same.)
Join a nationally organised challenge
We have a number of events coming up which we would like you to participate in, or support others who are participating. These fundraising events are always great fun. So please get involved!
Big Fun Run for AGSD-UK!
There are 5k runs all around the country that you can join in the name of the AGSD-UK. Once you have selected your event contact the office and we’ll make sure we have places available for you and anyone else you’ll be running with.
Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100
AGSD-UK has in the past had 12 riders in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 cyclo-sportive. This was a big fund raising opportunity for us, and a great day!
Watch out for details of the next event, or register your interest with us now. Contact the AGSD-UK office.
Riders with an AGSD-UK place are committed to raise at least £500 for the charity.
Places in the London Marathon
AGSD-UK has a Silver Bond with the Virgin Money London Marathon, which entitles us to one guaranteed place every five years. Our last place was in 2017. If you fancy running for us in 2022 get in touch, and start training! We may, of course, receive multiple applicants, so we will select the lucky runner nearer the time.
Want to run for us in the next race? You can always enter the London Marathon ballot for a place, then nominate us as your chosen charity. We can support you with branded clothing, promotion, etc.
Either way, please Contact the AGSD-UK office.
Want to do your own thing?… we can help.
You might be planning a sponsored head-shave, a fundraising dinner party, maybe a car boot sale to help de-clutter as well as raising some money.
Your own sponsored challenge
Let us know as what you would like to do and we can supply help and advice as well as things like T-shirts and sponsor forms. If it is something particularly unusual it may be newsworthy, so we can help raise awareness through your local press and media.
Do you want to do a parachute jump, trek the Inca Trail in Peru or even walk along the Great Wall of China? Again, we can help you realise these ambitions as well as raising vital funds.
Just e-mail our fundraising team and we are ready to help! Or call us on 0300 123 2790.
Mobilise social media
You can probably think of many ways to mobilise social media. Here is an inspiring example: Pompe Support Team member Gemma Seyfang produced a “Twelve Days of Christmas” video about Pompe disease (GSD2) and shared it on social media with a link to a fundraising page.
It was a fun way of including a group of people in a project, passing on a message and encouraging people to donate by linking to a sponsorship page for AGSD-UK.
Click on the video to enjoy the fun.
Could you do your own project and make it go viral on social media? If you would like to ask Gemma how she did hers, we can put you in touch. Just use the “Message us” form.
Place an AGSD-UK collection box.
A great way to help.
Do you know somewhere you could place a collection box – perhaps your local pub, shop or leisure centre?
If so, then do let us know and we can supply you with a collection box along with some guidelines for checking on it and emptying it regularly.
Every penny really does help, so please give the AGSD-UK a call on 0300 123 2790, or drop them an email.
