There are many different ways to help, from taking part in an organised fundraising activity like a marathon, planning your own event such as a car boot sale or quiz night or getting permission for a collection box in a work place, local store or community venue.
JustGiving
Check out our page with JustGiving and its great on-line facility, making it easy to collect sponsorship on charity events.
Give as You Live
Support AGSD-UK through your online purchases, with the seller donating a small percentage of the purchase price at no cost to you.
“Give as You Live” works with a wide range of retailers. Here our volunteer, Lisa Massimo, introduces “Give as You Live” and shows you how to set up an account and start helping AGSD-UK. (The web site layout has changed somewhat, but the principles remain the same.)
Big Fun Run for AGSD-UK!
There are 5k runs all around the country that you can join in the name of the AGSD-UK. Once you have selected your event contact the office and we’ll make sure we have places available for you and anyone else you’ll be running with.
Other fundraising challenges
Let us know if you are interested in taking on an organised challenge like the Great North Run or Swim Serpentine for us and we’ll try to secure places -or just enter yourself and nominate AGSD-UK as your chosen charity
Planning your own challenge
You might be planning a sponsored head-shave, a fundraising dinner party, or maybe a car boot sale to help de-clutter as well as raising some money.
For help and advice just email info@agsd.org.uk and let us know what you’d like to do -we can supply things like T-shirts and sponsor forms as well. If it’s something unusual it may be newsworthy, so we can help raise awareness through your local press and media.
Mobilise social media
You can probably think of many ways to mobilise social media. Here’s an inspiring example from volunteer Gemma Seyfang who produced a “Twelve Days of Christmas” video about Pompe and shared it on social media with a link to a fundraising page.
Do you know somewhere you could place a collection box – perhaps your local pub, shop or leisure centre?
If so, then email info@agsd.org.uk and we can supply you with a collection box along with some guidelines for checking on it and emptying it regularly.
All GSDs pulling together makes us all stronger.
